On December 24, 2021, White House Assistant Press Secretary Kevin Munoz confirmed on Twitter that effective December 31, 2021, at 12:01 am (ET), the White House will lift Proclamation 10315, which suspended and limited entry for certain immigrants and nonimmigrants who were physically present in eight African nations due to the onset of the COVID-19 Omicron variant. While these restrictions will be lifted, individuals traveling into the United States will remain subject to the COVID-19 vaccination requirements under Proclamation 10294, as well as related travel requirements issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for travel to the United States.
